Upstart's Growth Conversion Optimization team is dedicated to creating a seamless loan application experience that allows customers to effortlessly discover and access Upstart's credit products. By building exceptional, customer-centric experiences, this team plays a crucial role in making Upstart the premier destination for consumer credit, driving growth and unifying Upstart's product portfolio into a cohesive, multi-product marketplace.
As a Senior Product Manager, you will own the strategy and execution for the conversion optimization team, focusing on improving the loan application experience for Upstart's flagship personal loans product and uniting Upstart's credit offerings into a unified application experience. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive both large-scale initiatives and smaller, data-driven experiments that optimize customer and business outcomes.
How you'll make an impact:

• Develop and execute strategies to drive growth in loan originations, focusing on Upstart's personal loan product and enhancing the product experience across multiple credit offerings to build a cohesive multi-product marketplace.
  
• Establish and track success metrics to assess the impact of product initiatives, ensuring continuous optimization and improved outcomes.
  
• Make smart trade-offs to inform the ongoing product roadmap, prioritizing the features with the highest ROI and experimenting when necessary.
  
• Collaborate closely with product managers, engineering, analytics, design, and marketing to align goals and streamline processes, ensuring cross-functional coordination and successful delivery of initiatives.
  
• Leverage data-driven insights to make informed product decisions, identifying opportunities for optimization and testing hypotheses to improve key metrics.
  
• Deeply understand the customer through ongoing collaboration with consumer insights, product marketing, and product teams, ensuring the borrower experience is intuitive, seamless, and meets evolving customer needs.
  
  Minimum Qualifications
  
  • 
    
  • 5-10 years experience in a product management role focused on consumer growth with demonstrated success leading a team to meet specific KPIs (e.g., conversion improvements, revenue, lifetime value).
    
  • Strong experimentation skills, including hypothesis generation, A/B testing, and results analysis.
    
  • Ability to build relationships and effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization, from C-level to individual contributors.
    
  • Ability to manage and influence through persuasion, negotiation, and consensus building.
    
    Preferred Qualifications:
    
    • 
      
    • Experience building consumer products for technology companies in highly regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, etc.).
      
    • Proven track record of building and scaling multi-product ecosystems or marketplaces in a B2C environment.
      
    • Strong customer-centric mindset with the ability to translate customer insights into actionable product features and enhancements.

        At Upstart, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. The anticipated base salary for this position is expected to be within the below range. Your actual base pay will depend on your geographic location-with our "digital first" philosophy, Upstart uses compensation regions that vary depending on location. Individual pay is also determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
        In addition, Upstart provides employees with target bonuses, equity compensation, and generous benefits packages (including medical, dental, vision, and 401k).
        United States - Remote - Anticipated Base Salary Range: $162,100 - $224,500 USD
