• Certification Details
• Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, ONS Chemo Cert
• Special Procedures/Unit Details include Chemotherapy, Blood transfusions
• IV Antibiotics, Oncologic emergencies: tumor lysis syndrome, cytokine release syndrome
• Insulin drips, Heparin drips
• Focusing on infection prevention protocols and patient falls

  • Registered Nurse position at James Cancer Hospital and Research
  • Staffing ratios goal is 1:4, but can be 1:5
  • Weekends variable based on unit needs
  • No set/blocked scheduling offered to permanent staff
  • Self-schedule requests must be entered for preferred scheduling
  • First week of orientation is Mon - Fri dayshift, second week is 36hrs on-unit orientation
  • Floating to other Med/Surg and Oncology Units
    • Job Requirements
    • Oncology experience preferred but not required
    • Skills Required include MS/Tele, Telemetry, Interpretation of dysrhythmias
    • Use of Rapid Response Teams, Feeding tube care and management
    • IV therapy/Phlebotomy, Blood Product Administration
    • Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management
    • PICC line management, Starting IVs
      • Schedule Information

        • Unit Specific Information
        • Patients Diagnoses: Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, Acute leukemias
        • Chronic Leukemias, Sickle Cell Disease, other non hem cancers
        • Other benign hematology
        • Computerized Charting: EPIC
