  Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive eye exams for students of all ages, assessing visual acuity, eye health, and overall ocular function.
  • Diagnose and treat common eye conditions, including but not limited to refractive errors, dry eyes, and conjunctivitis.
  • Provide recommendations for corrective lenses, including glasses and contact lenses, and coordinate the fitting and ordering process as needed.
  • Collaborate with the school nurse, other healthcare professionals, and staff to promote eye health awareness.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide referrals to specialists or follow-up care when necessary.Hours & Schedule:
    • This is an extremely part-time position, requiring a few hours per month based on student need. Flexible scheduling is available to accommodate your availability.Compensation:
      • $100 per hourRequirements:Qualifications
        • Meet all requirements for Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) credentialing
        • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education of the American Optometric Association.
        • Valid state license to practice optometry and DEA registration.
        • Board certification or eligibility for board certification by the American Board of Optometry or similar certifying body.Third Street is an equal opportunity employer.
